Accessibility on holiday trips: Target groups and requirements
In order to make tourist offers accessible to people whose movement or senses are temporarily or permanently restricted, it is important to address the issue of accessibility.
With this module, we want to find out who has which special needs on vacation trips and which assistance is necessary or fits in with tourism demand. We are deliberately thinking of all people for whom the use of current vacation offers represents a particular challenge. This includes, for example, people who are dependent on a walking frame or cane, as well as families with baby carriages.
The following questions are at the center of the investigation:
- How large are individual target groups and which target groups have which special requirements?
- In which areas are barrier-free or low-barrier offers desired by a particularly large number of vacationers?
- What travel behavior can be observed among different target groups and what destinations and types of vacation are people with special needs interested in?
The module shows the importance of the topic, provides starting points for optimizing your own offers and for addressing specific customer groups.
